Candidates for employment at the Wedgewood Hills Swim Club must complete Child Line, PSP and FBI clearances or provide proof of prior completion. Background clearances are triggered for those employees with a "program, activity or service" who are "responsible for the child's welfare or having direct contact with children". Employees 14-17 years of age that have lived in PA for 10 years (with a signed affidavit from their parent) do NOT need the FBI Clearances.

Child abuse clearance - should be submitted online through the Child Welfare Information Solution (CWIS) self-service portal, www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis. Submitting an applications online allows you to receive the results through an automated system that will notify you once the results have been processed You will be able to view and print the results online. The report that you receive should be returned to the pool office or P.O. Box.
The criminal clearance - should be completed online through the Pennsylvania State Police website at https://epatch.state.pa.us. The report that you receive should be returned to the pool office or P.O. Box.
FBI Clearance - you register on the Cogent System website at www.pa.cogentid.com. After you register and pay, you will receive a 16 digit number. You will take that number to one of the designated locations in order to have your fingerprinting completed. You will receive an unofficial report in the mail which is for you to keep.
